Is Consider Donation a legitimate charity?
Yes. Consider Donation is a donation program of Blue Water Surrender Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Florida founded in 2004. You can verify our status directly through the IRS Tax-Exempt Organization Search using our taxpayer identification number.
Where does my donation actually go?
90 percent of resources go directly to mission activities and programs, including Casa Agua Azul, our children’s home in Guatemala. Administrative costs and fundraising each account for about 5 percent, per our FY2024 Form 990-EZ.
Will I get a tax receipt?
Yes. Depending on the asset, you will receive a 1098-C, a written acknowledgment, or an electronic tax receipt showing the transfer date and details. Consult your tax advisor about how the deduction applies to your situation.
